I Was a Vendor at the Wisconsin Self-Determination Conference

I recently had my first test-marketing opportunity at the Wisconsin Self-Determination Conference. It was a good learning experience. It went better than I could have asked for or expected.

Something I learned from doing the conference: Take into account the market you're selling in, whether it's in-person events or online. For example, if I do the same event next year, I would offer some lower-priced items because a fair amount of disabled people live on a fixed income. I would also do more self-promotion before the conference to let people know where they can find me.

I was surprised by just how much time and effort it took to finalize preparations for the conference. It wasn't the creation of the items as much as the paperwork needed for being a vendor, setting things up with my caregivers, organization, and other stuff.

I would like to do more sublimation in the future and lap blankets because I think those should go over well. One thing I should do is keep a sign-up sheet for people who want to be added to my email list or receive a personalized thank you message.

I would like to give a special thanks to my mentor Priscilla of Shimmering Creations and Decor Unlimited. She helped me through my first vendor experience at the conference. She was a vendor there as well. We had a great time helping each other out, and I appreciate her very much. I hope we can do more events together in the future.

Another shout-out to my sister and niece who attended the conference with me. I appreciate you guys so much!
