Sharing a Bit of My Business Plan

I know it’s been a while since I gave an update, but I’ve been really busy and I think it’s time I tell you about it. ODC and I have been working on a business plan. DVR will hopefully be the funding source.

So, I thought I would share a few items from my business plan. 

Business overview:

Crafter on Wheels is a mission-driven, micro-enterprise offering handmade knit and sublimation products such as stuffed animals, clothing, tumblers, and mugs. Founded and operated by Susan, a woman entrepreneur with a disability, Crafter on Wheels seeks not only to sell high-quality items but also to serve as a living example that individuals with disabilities can successfully own and operate their own business.

Mission Statement:

To create inclusive, handmade products that celebrate creativity, inspire well-being, and empower individuals with disabilities through representation, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.

Vision:

To be recognized as a business that not only delivers beautiful, high-quality items but also breaks down barriers by representing disability pride, encouraging self-employment, and fostering greater awareness in the wider community.

Latest update.       I recently had a meeting with DVR and ODC, and we went over the business plan. The launch of my business has been delayed for 3 months so that I can learn some new crafting techniques. Hopefully, after the three month pause we can enter the implementation phase of the process which I will discuss in a future blog post.      As it stands right now, my business will feature sublimation items and knitted items. Part of my business will focus on disability awareness and advocacy, in the form of sublimation T-shirts, tumblers, and more to be determined. I also want to do disability awareness and pride events. Tumbler cups CrafterOnWheels style

Hi, this is Crafter On Wheels back again! Today, we are going to talk about tumbler cups. My crafting buddy and I recently discovered tumbler cups with alcohol ink designs.  The first step in making alcohol ink tumblers is figuring out what cup size fits best on your cup spinner. Most types of cup spinners come with different sizes of foam pieces that fit inside the cup. You put the foam pieces on the spinner after they're inserted in the cup. The next step is to prep your tumbler cup, making sure you are doing everything in a well-ventilated area. Wipe down the cup with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and dry it with a paper towel. Then, once it is dry, put a base coat of paint on it. Some people use spray paint, but I use acrylic paint because I cannot spray paint in the house. Sometimes, when putting on the base coat, you might have to do two coats to cover the stainless steel. CrafterOnWheels introduction

I am  a disabled crafter who loves to make tumblers, candles, soaps and other crafts. This blog will discuss the process of creating these crafts, specifically where I need help and the parts that I can do by myself. I would like to give a special shout-out right here to my crafting buddy, who helps me create beautiful art. I am constantly looking for new crafts and assistive technologies that help me to create, so I will also be discussing different options that I have found work for me. I know not all assistive technology works for everyone, so if I find a craft or an assistive technology that does not work for me, I will still pass it on because it may work for someone else. Or they might be able to adapt it in a different way that works for them.
